Master's diary
Wednesday 15 July - We had a Court meeting on with a very full agenda, during which we admitted 3 new Liverymen Michael Seton, Elaine Galloway and Ross McGregor and awarded the Freedom of the Company to Philip Nye. They joined us at the Court Dinner when the Court entertained the Master Mason, Adrian Sarson; the Master Plaisterer, Reginald Derby; The Master Feltmaker, Nick Heal; The Master Mariner, Malcolm Parrott: the Master Chartered Surveyor, Simon Colesar; and the Master World Trader, Sue Garden (Baroness Garden of Frognal). It was a great evening during which the Master congratulated David Wootton, Alderman and Fletcher, on his successful election to be the next Aldermanic Sheriff, taking over on 24 September.

Tuesday 14 July - Fletchers Golf Day at Worplesdon. The winners, for which I presented the prizes) were:

1 Mike Williams (41 points) – therefore winner of the MacLellan cup – won several times before.

2 Jeremy Garnett (37 points).

3 Michael Seton (day before he was admitted as a Liveryman) (36 Points).

Winner of the 2008 Fletchers' knock out competition (Goblet presented at Worplesdon and a set of golf balls presented at the Court Dinner). Draw and progress of 2009 Competition on web site.

Great day and wonderful weather.– 18 competitors (greatest number yet) and day attended by Master and Mistress Fletcher.

Thursday 9 July - City of London Academy – no Lord Mayor but Alderman David Wootton (Sheriff elect) was there. Guest of honour was Dinah Cox OBE (Executive Director charity ROSA) - Fletchers gave 2 prizes (by Dinah Cox) for art Jack Cassidy and Haylea Rush both just leaving the Academy.

Friday 3 July - King Edward VI School, Whitely (with different Lord Mayor (Locum tenens)) Fri 3 Jul 09 – Fletchers do not sponsor or give a prize (and I’m on the case!).

Thursday 2 July - City of London Freemen’s School Ashtead (with Lord Mayor (Locum tenens).– Fletchers give a prize (by LM) for Food Technology to Laurence Belcher.

22 June - Emma and Luke Williams are delighted to announce that Barnaby was born at 1.27am on the 22nd June 2009. He weighed in at 6lbs 5oz. Mother and baby are well and are back home. Jasper and Felix are delighted with their baby brother and are currently being very helpful with him!!
