Master's diary
9 September The Master represented the Company at the funeral of Liveryman Wimburn Horlock at St Vedast Foster Lane and afterwards at Saddlers' Hall. Wimburn died on 26 August aged 94 and had been a true City man and Liveryman of several companies as well as ours.

17 – 20 September The Master and a party of Fletchers and their partners visited Norfolk for the annual weekend trip. The Party stayed in the Hoste Arms at Burnham Market. After settling in, the group visited the seal colony at Blakeney Point by open boats from Morston Quay. On return to the hotel, the Group freshened up and left for Titchwell Manor for a short reception and dinner. On Friday, the Group enjoyed a private tour of Holkam Hall the home of the Earl of Leicester. After lunch at the hotel, the Group left for Norwich for retail therapy, site seeing before attending the small theatre at Maddermarket to watch a thought provoking play called The Accrington Pals. On Saturday the Group visited the Tank Museum at Weybourne Military Camp and were hosted by the former Lord Mayor of London, Sir Michael Savory. The visit included some rides in military vehicles and some experienced the joys of being in a fart moving tank. The Group then visited the Anglican and Roman Catholic Shrines at Walsingham and were treated to personal introductions by the respective Administrators. After returning to the hotel, everyone enjoyed dinner at the Hoste Arms. On Sunday, the Group visited Sandringham and many attended Harvest Festival at the church, before viewing the house and gardens and having a final lunch together before departing for respective homes.

21 September The Master accompanied by his wife Anne attended the presentations of chains to Alderman David Wootton and Mr Peter Cooke. The event took place in Glaziers Hall and the Lord Peter Levene made the presentation. The Master and his wife were then invited to a small luncheon party hosted by the Sheriffs elect.

24 September The Master attended a luncheon in the Regimental Mess of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers at the Tower of London at which the Lord Mayor was the principle guest.

25 September The Master attended the admission of the Sheriffs at Guildhall and the Sheriffs’ Breakfast at Plaisterers’ Hall afterwards. In the evening, the Master was joined by his wife and their guests when they joined 13 other Masters and their wives at a masked ball at Mansion House, hosted by the Lord Mayor and the Lady Mayoress.

29 September The Master joined the procession of Masters from Guildhall to the Guildhall Church for a Thanksgiving Service before attending Common Hall for the election of a the next Lord Mayor. Afterwards he was joined by his wife Anne for lunch at the Hall, hosted by the Master Farmer. After lunch the Master attended a Company Finance Committee meeting in the Hall.
