The Trust made a substantial contribution over a five year period towards the Rio Paralympics – the Road to Rio and the Pathway to success – ways of “honing” and selecting the athletes for the Games which resulted in GB’s incredible success. It seems that with no pause to relax, the Trust and the national/international archery organiser Archery Great Britain immediately agreed a new plan to maintain that success in Tokyo in 2020.

Afour year programme was devised which, inter alia, provided kit for international trials, sought to deal with the problems of classification and set up a new tournament – The Fletcher’s Disability Championship. The latter is a fantastic annual event held at Lilleshall, the home of AGB and has been so successful the results now count towards para selection (a separate report will follow. In June 2019 the World Championships will take place in Holland and again the results will earn places in Tokyo; several Fletchers on the Charity Committee are attending.
