Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Affiliation

The Fletchers have a long association with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, whose Regimental Headquarters at the Tower of London recognises a link with the Tower stretching back over 400 years.

The affiliation was confirmed on 7 February 2001 with an exchange of gifts, and the picture above shows the formal affiliation document.  During his or her time in office, the Master is an honorary member of the Officers’ Mess, and the Deputy Colonel of the regiment is an Honorary Freeman of the Company.

The Company is very grateful to Fusiliers’ and HM Tower of London in permitting an annual archery contest against the Bowyers’ Company to take place in the Tower Moat and for their hospitality in their Mess following the shoot.

In December 2018 and 2019, the annual Fletchers’ carol service has been shared with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and held at the Chapel Royal of St Peter ad Vincula inside HM Tower of London.  The service each year was followed by a buffet supper and drinks in the Fusiliers’ Headquarters.
