Past Master, Peter Scott

Past Master Peter Scott was installed as Master Fletcher April 2007.

Peter Scott has been a Director since 1986 of MMD, an independent firm of business economics consultants, now based in Hatton Garden. It advises governments, here and internationally, as well as public corporations, regional development agencies, economic regulatory agencies and private companies of all sizes. Current and recent clients include Royal Mail and the Regional Development Agencies for London and North East England.

Before joining MMD Peter worked for the merchant bank Samuel Montagu & Co., now part of HSBC Investment Bank, advising governments and central banks of developing countries on their international financial affairs. This followed 11 years in what is now the Department for International Development, a period which included three years in the British Representation to the European Union in Brussels.

Peter has a Masters degree in economics and law from The Fletcher School at Tufts/Harvard Universities, the leading graduate school of international relations in the United States, and a BA from Oxford University. He lives in north London, moving to Muswell Hill on his re-marriage in 2004. Toni and he have five children between them, ranging in age from 18 to 26. The family spends what time it can in the Lake District.
